I was invited to speak at the 2019 Vietnam Food Forum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at the request of VIETRADE. My presentation covered: US food trends, legacy brands, emerging brands, disruptive brands, generational preferences, labeling, food as medicine, plant based diets, and how technology impacts the sale of products from Amazon to peer-rated food offerings on sites like UberEats or Grab in Asia.
After the Food Forum, I tried several Vietnamese dishes and street food in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Invited by good friends to see more of the country, I visited Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO heritage site. During the tour, one of the people in our group was 45 minutes late to the boat, so we cruised back late which was a bonus, seeing the beautiful sunset on our journey back to the harbor.
If you are interested in Vietnam and the numerous opportunities that exist here, contact me today! And, if you haven’t traveled to Vietnam, check it out. Much like California, Vietnam has three key regions: North (Hanoi area), Central (Da Nang and Nha Trang beaches), South (Ho Chi Minh and Delta region) that offer a unique experience.
