Somatic experiencing was founded by DR Peter LeVine. He studied animals in Africa and what he noticed was that there’s a story of trauma within the body and that if you release trauma too rapidly the person kind of collapses like a slinky.
So, you want to allow trauma to come out slowly and naturally and not force it in titrated amounts and what you discover is you don’t have to talk about it and that old feelings aren’t true in the present state yet.
