Nutrition is key. I think we all know in the business settings. We see a lot of high fat high sugar. People getting their coffees in the morning and you know there’s nothing wrong with coffee but it’s what we put in the coffee that creates kind of a legal drug so to speak with the fats sugars creams all those things so these things are not healthy for people, they can actually increase anxiety and they can cause spikes and blood sugar and all those other things and make people feel not so good so as a manager. I always have healthy foods for people. If I’m ordering food, I don’t order all the sugar and all the junk food I bring in fruits and different things like that so people have healthier options around them and it’s important because there is a gut brain connection and this has been talked about a lot in recent the gut brain connection actually the healthier. Your gut is with the different uh like the microbiome that’s in the gut and the bacteria and all that sounds kind of nasty but it’s very important stuff so you can spend some time looking at the gut brain connection and understanding that a healthy gut and what we eat actually goes back up into our brain and creates a healthier brain and a better connection between the two scientifically so sugar is also not good for our cells.
Water intake is key. We are made of a ton of water at the cellular level so the more water you have the better your cells function to move things around healthy choices and again like I said just order healthy things for people and real food we’re seeing all these different things like plant-based food, there’s nothing wrong with a plant-based diet. Plant-based that’s very healthy but some of these products that are coming out that label themselves as plant-based. They’re made with a lot of filler; a lot of junk just very unhealthy things so read the labels on things and know what you’re putting in your body and try to put real food in your body. It’s been around for a long time and our bodies have functioned well with real food ayurvedic body types as well that’s something I learned through the yoga world and there are body types that run hotter, cooler different types and there’s actually foods that correlate better for individuals body types so that’s something really important for me.
I’m a tall guy and I actually do better with cooling foods like cucumbers and things like that so ayurvedic diet it works well check that out. Nutrition is very important to the overall you know mental and physical well-being of people in the workplace.
