Drugs. I mentioned it earlier just because a drug is illegal by our health care system doesn’t mean that it is used properly or perhaps sometimes drugs are over prescribed as we know. So, it’s important to know this because people need to make an educated choice as well as employers need to understand ADA law.
If somebody is going through changes on medication. They may not be able to perform at work from safety standpoints different things like that and they are protected by Americans with disabilities. If they have severe depression post-traumatic stress other things like that so be very mindful and how are you communicating with employees? Who are you know using legally prescribed medications as well as considering safety issues that may be present and as well as ADA issues that you should be thinking about as a manager because people do need time to readjust? If they are receiving medications, we’re dealing with hormones, we’re dealing with a human. It’s not a machine we can’t see everything going on so understand when people do take prescription drugs.
There is time for the body to kind of recalibrate re-adjust some things go well for people. Other things don’t go well so maybe they have to work with the doctor a little bit more. It’s all very important stuff to be mindful.
