Before we get started in this course, I just want to put out this disclaimer. This course is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease including mental health conditions. For treatment always consult a licensed professional. This course presents evidence-based material and it leverages my own lived experience navigating trauma to bring forward a holistic set of resources that people can understand so they can start living the life that they deserve. This training is also one that I make available to companies and organizations to foster mental health programs and employee wellness programs in the workplace because it truly matters.
As a self-paced course, you have the ability to stop, pause, go backward, forward, do whatever it is that you want to do as you take this course at your own speed. So, understand that, and do take care of yourself because talking about trauma can be stressful for people because these are things that we’re told not to talk about in our society too often and the goal of talking about this is to create a safe place where we can talk about trauma and we can also acknowledge what trauma is and that numerous ways to help people in the workplace heal and to find the seeds that can be planted for personal and professional growth. If things come up as you take this course, always remember the many resources around you to find help:
– Your company’s EAP hotline
– Peer support teams
– National Suicide Prevention Hotline
– National Domestic Violence Hotline
– Psychology Today for a list of mental health providers near you
– Self-care plans that include walking, meditation, yoga, breathing, eating healthy foods, and doing things you love
